On the surface: Topstitch on the surface of the garment with decorative machine stitches along the tape parallel to the teeth. Cut the fabric away from behind the zipper and tuck the top and bottom ends through to the back. A fun application for the 100% cotton zipper is to paint a design on the tape and let it show!

Inserted: With right sides together, stitch the edge of the zipper along one opening edge. Adjust the seam allowance to allow for more tape to show. Press the seam allowance towards the garment and top or under stitch as desired. Repeat process for opposite opening edge.

Helpful hints: Pre-treat the zipper along with the fabric. Never stretch the zipper during application. Pinning or hand-basting may help in difficult applications. Hand-picked zippers provide a couture finish.
